Sydney Schermerhorn

Sydney Schermerhorn is an experienced library professional with a strong background in assisting patrons and managing information resources. Currently serving as a Library Assistant for the City of Destin since July 2020, Sydney's responsibilities include checking out and in materials, providing reference assistance, and organizing library collections. Previously, as an iSchool Graduate Assistant at the University of South Florida, Sydney focused on marketing and communications, designing recruitment materials in alignment with institutional guidelines. Earlier experience includes a Student Internship at Northwest Florida State College, where Sydney developed informational resources and maintained online databases, and a Young Adult Summer Internship at the City of Destin, where Sydney was recognized as the youngest intern. Sydney holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Minor in Mass Communication Studies from the University of Florida, as well as a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of South Florida.
