Joshua Acevedo, Ed.D., currently serves as the El Paso City Council Representative for District 2, a position started in January 2024. Previously, Joshua served as a Campaigns Organizer for Local Progress and Local Progress Impact Lab from April 2022 to February 2024 and as a Board Trustee for the El Paso Independent School District from July 2019 to January 2024. Joshua's extensive experience also includes roles such as CARES Engagement Manager and Program Manager at The University of Texas at El Paso, Senior Administrative Assistant for El Paso County, and Congressional Intern in the office of Congressman Beto O'Rourke. Joshua holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from The University of Texas at El Paso, alongside various certificates from Harvard Business School Executive Education and Georgetown University. Additionally, Joshua has earned a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in Political Science from The University of Texas at El Paso and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a concentration in Chemistry.
