Lesego Mphefo

Lesego Mphefo currently serves as the Executive Director of Economic Development for the City of Johannesburg since August 2023. Previously, Lesego held the position of Manager at Mogale City Local Municipality from December 2015 to July 2023 and was the Director of Lesego Mphefo & Associates (Pty) Ltd from June 2014 to May 2023. Additional experience includes serving as the Chief Director: Strategy Policy Advisor at the Provincial Treasury and as a Senior Manager in Finance & Treasury for the Public Sector at PwC. Lesego's career began at the Provincial Treasury, where roles included Director of MFMA Compliance & Intergovernmental Relations, Deputy Director of Norms & Standards, and Senior Financial Administrative Officer from August 2005 to September 2011. Lesego holds a B Com in Economics from North-West University, obtained between 2002 and 2004, and completed secondary education at Batswana High School, achieving Standard 10/Grade 12 in Commercial Subjects from 1995 to 1997.
