Michael Schaad

Michael Schaad is an experienced Utilities Engineer currently working for the City of Kamloops since September 2022. Previously, Michael was an Engineer-in-Training at Urban Systems Ltd. from May 2016 to September 2022, specializing in water and wastewater design as well as subdivision and servicing consultation within British Columbia. Prior experience includes serving as a Civil Inspector at WSP in Canada from May 2013 to April 2016, providing inspection and civil tech services during summer construction projects. Michael also has a significant background in utility management, having operated and managed both water and wastewater utilities for Tobiano Utilities Inc. and Tobiano Wastewater Inc. from August 2006 to May 2013. Additionally, Michael held the position of Fire Chief at Tobiano Fire Department from January 2009 to April 2013. Michael holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia Okanagan, and has completed related educational programs at Thompson Rivers University and Okanagan University College, earning certifications as an EOCP Water Treatment Operator Level 2 and an EOCP Water Distribution Operator Level 1, among others.
