Alderman Kawsar Zaman

Alderman Kawsar Zaman is a barrister and mediator at No5 Barristers' Chambers since September 2018, currently specializing in civil, public, regulatory, and employment law. Elected as the Alderman of Bishopsgate in the City of London in September 2022, Kawsar Zaman serves various roles including Counsel to the Undercover Policing Inquiry and Level 1 Prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service Advocate Panel. Kawsar Zaman has also contributed to legal education as a guest teacher at the London School of Economics and Political Science and as a visiting lecturer at The University of Law. Previous experience includes roles as a solicitor at Allen & Overy and Clifford Chance LLP, and as the Prime Minister's Global Fellow at 10 Downing Street. Kawsar Zaman holds an LLM from Harvard Law School and a BCL from the University of Oxford.
