Jenny Chavez

Jenny Chavez currently serves as the Public Works Commissioner for the City of Los Angeles, a position held since October 2024, where management of city operations and leadership in governmental environments are key responsibilities. Prior to this role, Jenny held positions including Senior Vice President of Stakeholder Relations at the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board and Chief of Staff for Councilmember Joe Buscaino. Additional experience includes Deputy Chief of Staff for Councilmember Janice Hahn, Legislative Representative at the Port of Los Angeles, and Legislative Director for Councilmember Janice Hahn. Early career roles involved serving as a Field Representative for State Senator Debra Bowen. Jenny holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & International Relations from the University of Southern California and a Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law.
