Colin D. Burress, M.A., M.S., EFO, CFO serves as the Assistant Fire Chief for the City of Memphis Fire Department since January 2020, alongside a long-standing role as Task Force Leader and Program Manager for Tennessee Task Force One (TNTF-1) under DHS/FEMA since March 2001. Burress has also been a Board Member at the Fire Museum of Memphis since December 2016. Prior to the current position, Burress held the title of Battalion Chief of Special Operations at the City of Memphis Fire Department from September 1998 to December 2019. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Homeland Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, a Master of Science in Operations Management and Supervision from the University of Arkansas, an Executive Fire Officer designation from the National Fire Academy, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from LeMoyne-Owen College.
