Joel Gonzalez

Joel Gonzalez currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the City Manager with the City of Miami, a position held since January 2022. Prior to this role, Joel was the Director of Security for the 2018 Rolling Loud Music Festival, where coordination with law enforcement and private security was essential for ensuring a safe event. Joel's extensive experience with the City of Miami Police Department from March 1989 to September 2017 includes serving as the Special Events Commanding Officer, overseeing public safety and traffic resources during major events such as the Ultra Music Festival and Calle Ocho Street Festival. Additionally, Joel held the title of Police Lieutenant during this tenure. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Thomas University and an Associate’s Degree from Miami Dade College.
