Jason Mikaelian

Jason Mikaelian, AICP, serves as the Deputy Director of the Planning and Community Development Department for the City of Pasadena since July 2023, overseeing areas such as Planning, Building, Code Enforcement, and Cultural Affairs. Previously, Jason held the position of Deputy Director at the City of El Monte's Community and Economic Development Department from April 2014 to June 2023, where responsibilities included managing various divisions and representing the department at City Council meetings. Jason's extensive experience in city planning also includes roles as City Planner in El Monte, Senior Planner in Pasadena, and Associate Planner in Santa Clarita and Downey, with a strong focus on community outreach, economic development, and comprehensive planning initiatives. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.
