Colin Belle

Colin Belle, MRP, currently serves as the Comprehensive Planning & Design Coordinator for the City of Rockford, Illinois, since March 2020. Prior to this role, Colin worked as a Metropolitan Planner for the Region 1 Planning Council from April 2012 to March 2020, focusing on Geographical Information Systems, Remote Sensing, and cartography for the Boone, Winnebago, and Ogle County Metropolitan Planning Area. Previous experience includes positions as an Economic Analyst for Empire State Development, where responsibilities included developing GIS tools and interactive databases, as well as roles in environmental planning and assistance at the Department of Environmental Conservation. Colin holds a Master's degree in Urban/Regional Planning and Environmental and Land Use from the University at Albany and a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Geography, and GIS from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
