Leela Fireside

Leela Fireside is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as Senior Assistant City Attorney for the City of Rockville, Maryland since January 2023. Prior to this role, Leela spent nearly 15 years as an Assistant City Attorney with the City of Austin, focusing on drafting and reviewing ordinances and resolutions. Leela's extensive experience also includes serving as Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General of Texas, where responsibilities involved plaintiff's civil litigation, including environmental law and consumer enforcement. Earlier in the career, Leela worked as Assistant Public Interest Counsel at the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, assisting in public hearings related to water quality and permits. Leela earned a Juris Doctor degree from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Ithaca College.
