Alexandro Bazán serves as the Director of Sustainability for the City of South Bend, overseeing innovative programs such as the Energy Assistance Solar Savings Initiative and Vibrant Places. With experience in advancing sustainability initiatives, Alexandro has facilitated the development of the City’s EV Community Infrastructure plan and is leading the update of the climate action plan. As the Co-Founder and Organizer for Highland Neighbors for Sustainability, Alexandro has successfully driven climate action efforts in Northwest Indiana, including convincing multiple municipalities to participate in a resilience program and securing funding for equitable internships. Previous roles include Greenest Region Corps Member for the Village of Park Forest, Energy Analyst at ICF, and various positions focused on energy efficiency and sustainability research. Alexandro holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Systems and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Michigan, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from Purdue University.
