Mark Rust

Mark Rust, AICP, currently serves as the Planning Manager for the City of Springfield, Oregon, overseeing the Current Planning and Code Enforcement programs within the Community Development Department since August 2017. With extensive experience in planning, Mark has previously held various roles, including Planning Supervisor and Senior Planner, and has successfully managed a significant City Council project to update the Springfield Development Code. Prior to joining Springfield, Mark worked at Lane County as an Associate Planner and at Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt as a Certified Land Use Planner, where substantial legal analysis and project management skills were utilized. Mark's career also includes roles at various municipalities and consulting firms, where contributions to long-range planning, land use, and development projects were made. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University.
