Cynthia Solomon Barber, MPA, CPM, LEED Green Associate, has been serving the City of Tallahassee since 2001, currently holding the position of Deputy City Manager. In this role, Cynthia oversees the Police, Fire, Parks Recreation & Neighborhood Affairs, Emergency Preparedness & Facility Security Departments, as well as the Consolidated Dispatch Agency. Previous roles at the City include Director of Environmental Policy & Energy Resources and Assistant City Manager for Community Engagement & Public Safety. Prior to joining the City of Tallahassee, Cynthia worked at the State of Florida's Health & Rehabilitative Services as a Supervisor in Public Assistance and held various positions in Utility Business & Customer Services from 1991 to 2001. Cynthia holds a Master of Public Administration from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from the same institution.
