Sambo Kirkman

Sambo Kirkman currently serves as the Assistant Community Development Director for the City of Tigard, a position held since May 2024. Previously, Sambo worked at the City of Beaverton for six years, where titles included Engineering Services Manager and Senior Planner. Additional experience includes the role of Associate Planner at Washington County Land Use and Transportation, and Senior Planner at Planning Communities LLC. Sambo also operated Tao of Planning and held the position of Associate Planner at the City of Beaverton earlier in the career. The professional background began at The JD White Company as a Planner. Academic qualifications include an Executive MPA in Public Administration from Portland State University, and a Bachelor's of Science in Geography from the University of Oregon.
