Alyssa Maddern

Alyssa Maddern, MS, CTRS, serves as the Director of Elderly Services for the City of West Haven since July 2021, with prior experience as a Lifestyle Assistant at Maplewood and as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist at Yale New Haven Hospital's Children's Psychiatric Inpatient unit. Alyssa has a diverse background in recreational therapy, including a clinical internship at Yale New Haven Hospital, where responsibilities involved conducting assessments and leading therapy groups. Previously, Alyssa spent over a decade with West Haven Parks and Recreation, coordinating arts and crafts and implementing camp policies. With a strong educational foundation from Southern Connecticut State University, holding both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Alyssa has developed expertise in adaptive physical education and youth coaching, further supported by roles in customer service and sales.
