Joshua Childress

Joshua Childress has extensive law enforcement and military experience, currently serving as a Police Detective/Corporal in various specialized units, including Robbery & Homicide and Special Victims, with the City of Wilmington, NC since January 2012. Prior to this, Joshua held multiple roles within the Wilmington Police Department, focusing on violent and property crimes. Additionally, Joshua has had a distinguished military career with the North Carolina National Guard, culminating in retirement as a Major in July 2024, after serving in various leadership and operational roles, including as Company Commander and with combat experience in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Criminal Justice/Public Administration from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Military Science from Appalachian State University.
