Matthew Kim

Builder at Civics Unplugged

Matthew Kim is an accomplished builder at Civics Unplugged since September 2021, also serving as a Fall '21 Fellow. As a NSLI-Y Scholar with the National Security Language Initiative for Youth from June to August 2023, Matthew contributed to language and cultural exchange. Previously, from February 2021 to May 2023, Matthew held the position of Virginia Research Director at The Polling Place and served in various roles, including Vice President and Director of Media, at the International Biology Bowl from April 2021 to April 2023. Matthew participated in the High School Diplomats program with the National Association of Japan-America Societies, Inc. in July and August 2022. Matthew was also the Current Events Editor for The GroupChat for Change from August 2020 to June 2022 and an Economic Policy Fellow at The Greater Good Initiative from January to May 2022. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs at Boston University's Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, Matthew is expected to graduate in 2028 after completing an Advanced Studies Diploma at Oakton High School in 2024.
