Senior Objects Conservator at Cleveland Museum of Art

Beth Edelstein serves as the lab head for Objects Conservation at the Cleveland Museum of Art since May 2017, where responsibilities include the conservation and long-term preservation of three-dimensional and time-based media works. With 17 years of professional experience, Beth specializes in examining objects to assess materials, condition, and risks, while determining best practices for restoration and maintenance. Prior experience includes over 14 years as an Associate Conservator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, responsible for 40,000 objects within the Department of the Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas. Additionally, Beth operated as the Principal at SBE Conservation LLC, advising clients on fine arts collections care and providing conservation services to various esteemed institutions. Beth holds a Master's degree in Art Conservation from New York University, alongside a Certificate in Art Conservation from Studio Arts College International, and a degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
