Matt Luoma

Matt Luoma is an experienced professional in the mining industry, currently serving as Area Manager - Mining at Cleveland-Cliffs since January 2021. Luoma has held multiple roles at Cleveland-Cliffs, including Interim Area Manager, Section Manager for Mining Operations, Section Manager for Technical Services, and Mine Supervisor/Dispatcher. Prior to this position, Luoma worked at United States Steel Corporation for 16 years, where respective roles included Area Manager for Mine Engineering and Development/Drill and Blast, Coordinator for Mine Operations/Tailings Basin Manager, and Process Engineer for the Keetac and Minntac mines. Luoma holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of North Dakota, which was completed between 2002 and 2005.
