Katie O'Gara

Katie O'Gara serves as the Natural Carbon Capture and Climate Finance Lead at the Climate and Land Use Alliance since February 2022, focusing on updating the NCC strategy and implementing grantmaking strategies to enhance forest contributions to climate change mitigation. Prior to this role, Katie spent over seven years at the World Bank Group, where responsibilities included leading nature-based solutions for climate change in the Caribbean, managing carbon finance initiatives, and providing technical guidance on forest management. Earlier experience includes conducting research on social equity in REDD+ processes in Tanzania and work as a development associate supporting fundraising for EcoLogic Development Fund. Katie holds a Master of Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from Villanova University.
