Nicholas Van Schoten

Nick coordinates the collection of scientific and economic data to support Climateworks’ research, analysis and modelling, and other project teams’ analyses. Working with internal and external stakeholders, Nick helps ensure that decarbonisation scenario pathways using the AusTIMES model remain current. He also conducts quality assurance project reviews and strategy implementation, fostering cross-team collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and efficient outcomes, to ensure a uniform project process is consistently applied throughout the organization.

Nick’s academic experience in environmental economics encompasses an Honours thesis and formal academic tutoring in Climate Change Economics and Policy. He also completed the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Graduate program, specializing in price assurance analysis and scenario modeling of commodities and financial derivatives in the context of Australia’s energy sector.
