Stephanie May

Stephanie May is an accomplished geospatial professional with extensive experience in mapping and data visualization across various prestigious organizations. Currently, Stephanie serves as a Founding Editorial Board Member at the Cloud-Native Geospatial Forum (CNG) and previously held the position of Climatebase Fellow at Climatebase. As the Director of Geospatial at Stamen from February 2019 to September 2023, notable contributions included developing client-driven custom map solutions and enhancing key performance metrics. Additionally, concurrent roles involved co-creating innovative service offerings in the geospatial product sector. Prior experiences at Meta and Apple involved leading global mapping initiatives and integrating cartographic strategies within technological frameworks. Early career roles included providing academic instruction in GIS at San Francisco State University and engaging in environmental analysis with the San Francisco Department of Public Health. Stephanie holds a Master of Science in Geographic Information Science and Cartography from San Francisco State University and a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems from Stanford University.
