Mr. Baer is the SVP, Global Telecommunications Industry at Salesforce Inc., and from November 2013 until June 2017, was the Senior Vice President of Global Communications and Media Industry at Salesforce. Mr. Baer served as the Chief Information Officer of Comcast Cable Communications Inc. from October 2006 until April 2012 He was responsible for developing Comcast’s internal Information Technology (IT) strategy that aligns technology to meet overall business needs and objectives, including oversight of Comcast’s customer care, billing and ordering systems; data centers; desktops; internal telephony and other corporate systems. Mr. Baer served as Vice President of Business Platform Services for AOL in Dulles, Va., where he managed several of the information technology initiatives required to transition a subscriber-based ISP to a premium services and advertising-driven web portal company. He served as Chief Information Officer of Verestar Inc. Prior to joining Verestar, he was Vice President for Customer Care Information Systems of Bell Atlantic/Verizon, one of the world’s leading providers of communications services. Mr. Baer was responsible for all strategic customer service and provisioning systems. He also spent 15 years at American Management Systems, Inc., where he served as Vice President. Mr. Baer has 30+ years of experience in the Information Technology field. He has been a member of the Advisory Board for the Smith School at the University of Maryland. He holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BS in Finance and Economics from the University of Maryland.
