With a practice focused on insurance recovery and commercial litigation, Samantha handles coverage lawsuits under commercial policies, including general liability, professional liability, property, and representations and warranties.
Samantha’s clients appreciate her effective and clear communication skills. She conveys key points to them in a way they can easily understand and tailors the presentation of information to their preferences, whether that’s a phone call, an emailed bullet-point list, a comprehensive document, or a color-coded spreadsheet. If a client is facing several lawsuits, she keeps in touch with dozens of insurance companies, organizes all the details, and presents the essential information to the client in a concise way.
Deeply committed to pro bono work, Samantha has served clients in various public advocacy matters, such as obtaining a preliminary injunction against the New York State Department of Health in the Eastern District of New York—an action that secured Medicaid coverage for a disabled child’s speech-generating device. She also represented New York City public school students in suspension hearings. In addition to serving worthy causes, Samantha continues to further hone her litigation skills through these endeavors.
Previously, through her law school’s fellowship program, Samantha served as a clerk to the Hon. Gregory H. Woods in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She also held an intern position for the Hon. Matthew F. Cooper of the State of New York, New York County, Civil Branch. In law school, Samantha was an articles editor on the Cardozo Law Review.
