Bassam Kattan

Bassam Kattan is a seasoned educator and engineer with extensive experience in automation and control systems. Currently serving as a Chargé de cours at Collège de Maisonneuve since April 2008, Bassam Kattan teaches courses on industrial automation, including advanced Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems, instrumentation, and regulatory loops. Additionally, Bassam Kattan holds teaching positions at Cégep Édouard-Montpetit and Champlain College Saint-Lambert, focusing on industrial robotics and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Previous professional experiences include roles at ALSTOM Grid and BBA, as well as supervisory positions in production. Bassam Kattan holds a Ph.D. in Control Engineering from the University of Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, a Master's degree in Automatic and Production from the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aleppo.
