Infectious Disease Researcher at Columbia University Irving Medical Center

Alexandra Filipkowski is an accomplished Infectious Disease Researcher at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, collaborating with Dr. Jason Zucker since March 2023. Additionally, Alexandra serves as an Epidemiology Researcher at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, working under Dr. Matthew Freiberg. In previous roles, Alexandra conducted significant research on maternal smoking and congenital heart defects with Dr. Joey Barnett and engaged in community service through various volunteering efforts. Recognized for academic excellence, Alexandra is a member of several honor societies, including Psi Chi and Phi Beta Kappa, and co-founded the Pre-Medical Club at Fairfield University. With diverse research experience and leadership skills, Alexandra also holds a position as a Senior Student Consultant for the American Heart Association and has interned with Horizon Government Affairs, focusing on health policy. Alexandra will pursue a Doctor of Medicine degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School starting in July 2024, following the completion of a Master of Public Health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
