Laurie Olshansky is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, practicing for many years at Pets Unlimited Veterinary Hospital in San Francisco which later became The San Francisco SPCA.
Following the birth of her children, Laurie transitioned to a part-time pro bono practice providing veterinary care to PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support), a non-profit organization that assists people with low income and disabling illnesses. Laurie and her husband also established the PAWS Helping Hand Fund to subsidize diagnostics and other medical expenses for PAWS clients.
Laurie previously served as Co-Chair of the San Francisco Council for Common Sense Media, and as a Trustee for The Exploratorium from 2018-2022, and remains an active supporter of a wide variety of child and animal-oriented causes which are her primary philanthropic interests.
Laurie holds a B.A. from Syracuse University and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Ross University Veterinary School, with her clinical year completed at Louisiana State University.
