Katherine Velez

Katherine Velez, LCSW, currently serves as a Veterinary Social Worker at Cornell University Veterinary Specialists, where responsibilities include providing resources for clients facing grief and emotional challenges, enhancing overall wellness, and offering staff training on managing client interactions and compassion fatigue. Previous experience includes roles as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Norwalk Community Health Center, where support was given for emotional and mental health needs, and as a Research Coordinator at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, focusing on pediatric emotional connection studies. Katherine has also worked as a Leadership Coach at Five Frogs, Inc., and served in various capacities at Person-to-Person, where special attention was given to Spanish-speaking populations and families. Katherine holds an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University and a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut.
