Jodi Joyce

Jodi Joyce is currently a Board Member at COMMUNITY HEALTH PLAN OF WASHINGTON. Prior to that, they served as Chief Quality Officer & Associate Vice Chancellor for Quality & Patient Safety at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2012 to 2020. In this role, they were responsible for the development and execution of the strategic plan for quality and patient safety across the entire UI Health enterprise. This included the 495-bed academic medical center, primary care and specialty care clinics, federally qualified health centers, and seven health sciences colleges.

Healthcare delivery system responsibilities included Accreditation & Clinical Compliance, Infection Prevention & Control, Quality Performance & Improvement, Patient Safety & Risk Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, and Health Information Management. Some of the performance improvements they oversaw included an 82% reduction in device-related healthcare-acquired infections, 42% reduction in post-operative blood clots, and 23% reduction in risk-adjusted mortality.

Prior to their time at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Joyce served as Vice President of Quality & Patient Safety at Legacy Health from 2007 to January 2012.

Jodi Joyce has a MBA in Health Care Management from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a PhD from University of Illinois Chicago, and a Negotiation and Leadership Program from Harvard Law School. Jodi also has a Kaiser Permanente Executive Education Program from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, a BSN in Nursing from Northwestern University, and a BS in Liberal Arts from Wheaton College. Jodi is certified from the National Association for Healthcare Quality as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), from the American Organization for Nursing Leadership as a Certified in Executive Nursing Practice (CENP), from the American College of Healthcare Executives as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), and from the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Nurse Executive Advanced - Board Certified (NEA-BC).
