Raymond Chiong received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia, and has taught a variety of computer science and information systems courses at Swinburne University of Technology before joining the University of Newcastle in early 2013. Besides teaching, he conducts research related to evolutionary game theory, optimisation, data analytics, and modelling of complex adaptive systems.
Raymond was the Editor-in-Chief of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Information, Knowledge, and Management from 2011 to 2014, and is currently an Editor for the Journal Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence and an Associate Editor for the IEEE Computational Intelligence Magazine.
He has also served as Guest Editor for a number of reputable international journals, such as the International Journal of Production Economics and the European Journal of Operational Research.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE, and one of the Founding Co-Chairs of the IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Production and Logistics Systems.
To date, he has produced/co-authored over 100 refereed publications in the form of books, book chapters, journal articles and conference papers.
