Chitra Balasubramanian

Chitra Balasubramanian is Chief Financial Officer at CircleCI, where she is responsible for overseeing the company's general & administrative functions.

Prior to CircleCI, Chitra most recently led strategy & global financial operations for RetailNext, the leader in comprehensive in-store analytics. During her tenure at RetailNext, Ms. Balasubramanian also chartered a team of data analysts, consulted with clients, and delivered useful data-based products that change the ways retailers sell to their customers.

Before joining RetailNext, Chitra worked at Blackhawk Network, where she was responsible for marketing analytics and product forecasting across more than fifty retail partners. In addition, she was instrumental in providing business decision support for the company's strategic deals. Prior to that, she was a part of Barclays Capital's Technology Investment Banking group, where she provided clients with strategic recommendations in corporate finance and business strategy.

Earlier in her career, Chitra was one of the first subject-matter experts on financial auditing for PricewaterhouseCoopers' Center for Advanced Research division, an innovation think tank responsible for the design and development of advanced technologies that solve previously unsolvable problems for the firm's core practice areas. As part of her role, she worked closely with a team of veteran technologists to design new tools that the company of over 180,000 employees would go on to use to streamline its business.

Ms. Balasubramanian currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Computer History Museum. She is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
