Harry Kraemer, Jr.

Vice Chair at The Conference Board

Harry M. Jansen Kraemer, Jr. is executive partner at Madison Dearborn Partner (MDP), a private investment equity firm. Prior to joining MDP in 2005, Kraemer was the chairman and CEO of Baxter International Inc, a $12 billion global health care company. He currently serves as clinical professor of management and strategy at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Kraemer is on the boards of OptionCare, Patterson Medical, VWR International, Leidos Corporation and Dentsply Sirona, Inc. He is a member of the board of trustees of Nortwestern University; the Dean’s Advisory Board of the Kellogg School of Management, and is a vice chair of The Conference Board.

Kraemer is the author of two best selling leadership books: From Values to Action: The Four Principles of Values-Based Leadership and Becoming the Best Build a World-Class Organization through Values-Based Leadership.

Kraemer received a bachelor’s degree and a C.P.A. degree from Lawrence University and an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
