Sophia Richardson Ceng Micheme

Sophia Richardson CEng MIChemE is a highly experienced performance manager and chemical engineer currently leading a team at Contact Energy Ltd since June 2021 to enhance the availability and efficiency of generation assets in New Zealand. Previously, Sophia held roles as a senior process engineer at Contact Energy and Shell, where significant optimizations of geothermal and oil and gas systems were achieved. With a background in offshore projects, Sophia served as a senior concept engineer, providing technical assurance for deepwater ventures at Shell and coaching junior engineers during tenure at Brunei Shell Petroleum. Sophie's career began with Shell Global Solutions as a fuels science intern. Educated at the University of Cambridge, Sophia earned a Class 1 MEng in Chemical Engineering.
