Nathan Kallus is an Associate Professor at Cornell University since July 2016, with research interests including causal inference, optimization, reinforcement learning, statistical machine learning, economics combined with machine learning, and fairness. Nathan currently serves as Research Director at Netflix, leading the Machine Learning & Inference Research team since December 2020. Previously, Nathan worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Cuebiq, specializing in causal machine learning applications, and held several academic positions, including Visiting Scholar at the University of Southern California and Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Nathan holds a PhD in Operations Research from MIT and dual bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, as well as Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley.
