Steven Bahls

Steven Bahls has extensive experience in academic leadership and legal education, currently serving as Program Director for the Presidential Vocation and Institutional Mission Program at the Council of Independent Colleges since February 2023. Bahls has held the position of President Emeritus and Part-Time Faculty Member at Augustana College since July 2003, where Steven previously served as President. Additionally, Bahls works as a consultant for the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges. Prior roles include Dean and Professor of Law at Capital University Law School and Associate Dean and Professor of Law at The University of Montana School of Law. Bahls began their career as an attorney at Frisch, Dudek & Slattery, Ltd. Bahls holds a Doctor of Law degree from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Iowa.
