Monika Kopcheva

Monika Kopcheva, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Luxembourg since September 2016, focusing on the approximation of EU Criminal Law. In addition, Monika has been with the Council of the European Union since July 2007, serving as Head of Information Security and previously as a Policy Officer, contributing to EU Cyber Policy and judicial cooperation in criminal matters as well as police and customs cooperation. Monika began their legal career as a Lawyer-linguist at the General Prosecutor's Office of Bulgaria from 2001 to 2003, and has also served as a Legal Advisor. Monika holds an MA in Human Rights from Central European University and an LLM in Law from Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski.
