Garth N. Walker

Garth N. Walker, MD, MPH, currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer of Rush Health and Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Rush University Medical Center since December 2022. Walker is also a Term Member at the Council on Foreign Relations since July 2023 and has been an attending physician in the Emergency Department at Jesse Brown VA Medical Center with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs since June 2019. Previous roles include assistant professor at Northwestern University, White House Fellow at the Department of Health and Human Services, Deputy Director at the Illinois Department of Public Health, and a research fellow focused on healthcare disparities. Garth Walker holds an MPH from Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine and an MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, along with a BA in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
