CASA-NYC’s mission is to ensure that children in foster care have their needs met and rights protected; that they move out of foster care and into permanent, safe and loving homes as quickly as possible; and that young people aging out of foster care have the resources and support they need to live independently. Family Court Judges assign CASA to assist with the most complex cases. We work diligently to provide individualized attention to each child, ensuring their needs are addressed and helping them navigate the maze of the NYC foster care system. CASA-NYC is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organization, and a member in good standing of the National CASA Association.

The Borough Coordination Team at CASA-NYC consists of coordinators for specific boroughs, including Queens and Brooklyn. Their primary role is to liaise with Family Court Judges and other stakeholders to ensure that the unique needs of children in foster care within their assigned boroughs are met. They manage and support volunteers, oversee complex cases, and work to expedite the process of finding permanent, safe, and loving homes for these children.
