Martin Stewart

Martin Stewart is currently the Director at Coventry Building Society. Prior to this, they held various positions at OakNorth, The London Institute of Banking & Finance, and the Bank of England. From 2013 to 2018, they were the Director of Banks, Building Societies & Credit Unions at the Bank of England. From 2010 to 2013, they were the Head of UK Banks & Mutuals at the Financial Services Authority.

Throughout their career, Martin has been responsible for the prudential supervision of UK banks, building societies, and credit unions. Martin has also played a key role in defining and implementing the UK's post-financial crisis prudential regulatory regime.

Martin Stewart completed a Masters of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.
