Lawrence Fong, M.D. is the Efim Guzik Distinguished Professor in Cancer Biology in the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, San Francisco, where he leads the Cancer Immunotherapy Program. Dr. Fong also co-directs the Parker Institute of Cancer Immunotherapy at UCSF and co-leads the Cancer Immunity and Immunotherapy Program in the Cancer Center. He is a physician-scientist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology directing both a translational research program and an NIH-funded research lab. He is a leader in the field of cancer immunotherapy for having been involved in both pre-clinical and clinical studies of multiple immunotherapies including sipuleucel-T and immune checkpoint inhibitors that are now FDA-approved.
