Barbara Poe

Barbara Poe is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in volunteer management and animal welfare operations. Currently serving as the Volunteer Manager at Crossroads Hospice since March 2017, Barbara has successfully recruited and managed a team of 35 active volunteers while ensuring a meaningful experience that meets organizational needs. Prior to this role, Barbara held key leadership positions including District Manager at Bentley's Pet Stuff, Chief Operating Officer at Great Plains SPCA where Barbara oversaw a $4M budget and a 28,000 square foot Regional Animal Shelter startup, and Director of Shelter Operations at Wayside Waifs, where Barbara developed significant programs and procedures. Barbara also served as Program Director for the Missouri Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty, showcasing a diverse background in both operational management and community-focused initiatives.
