Katy Craig is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Katy conducts research in applied math and partial differential equations, teaches courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and mentors students and postdoctoral researchers. Katy’s research was recently recognized by a three year National Science Foundation grant.
Katy received her B.S. in mathematics with distinction from Stanford University, after which she spent a year and a half working in corporate finance at Apple. Katy then went to Rutgers University for her Ph.D. in mathematics, where she was awarded Rutgers’ Presidential Fellowship. After finishing her Ph.D., Katy spent a year at the University of California, Los Angeles, as a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow, and subsequently a year at the University of California, Santa Barbara, as a UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellow. Katy has served in her current role as Assistant Professor since 2016.
