Gaëtan Bernard

Gaëtan B. is a PhD Student at CSEM, engaged since June 2020, focusing on advanced research in material science. Previously, Gaëtan served as a Laser Application Engineer in Innovation at Georg Fischer from May 2018 to March 2020, where responsibilities included collaborating with external partners on Surface Functionalization through laser texturing, leading a technical work package in the SHARK and HIAMALAIA EU Horizon 2020 projects, and participating in several national projects. Prior to this, Gaëtan completed a Master Thesis at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, studying Gold Nanoparticles Quasi-Periodic Arrays. Gaëtan's early career includes an engineering trainee role at Camlin Technologies Ltd., specializing in laser technology. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Material Science and Engineering, with a minor in energy, and a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from EPFL.
