Mitchell O'Mara

Mitchell O'Mara is a seasoned geologist currently employed by Beach Energy Ltd since March 2020, focusing on the Perth Basin assets and specializing in prospect maturation and generation, with key responsibilities in seismic interpretation, mapping, and well planning. Prior roles include geoscientist positions in both the Perth and Cooper Basins, where Mitchell was instrumental in vetting exploration wells and collaborating extensively with multidisciplinary teams, achieving notable success with well recommendations and operations. In addition to practical industry experience, Mitchell O'Mara contributes to academia as an Adjunct Research Fellow at Curtin University and previously served as a Teaching Associate at Monash University. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Geoscience, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Petroleum Geoscience, and a Bachelor of Science in Geoscience, all obtained from Monash University.
