Xander Pickard

Xander Pickard is a skilled design engineer currently employed at Custom Engineering and Fabrication since May 2023. Previously, Xander served as a propulsion test engineer at Virgin Orbit, where responsibilities included the hands-on build and activation of a new LOX/RP-1 engine test stand, along with the redesign of sub-systems and development of operating procedures. Xander's background also includes experience as a rapid prototyping lab technician at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, managing CAD model submissions and consultations on component design, as well as roles at NASA, where Xander was involved in the preliminary design of an inflatable airlock for Mars missions and led a team in testing ascent control systems for high-altitude balloons. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on propulsion from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
