Keith Shah

Keith Shah, PhD, MBA, FACHE, serves as the Executive Vice President at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield since 2022 and has been a faculty member at The George Washington University since 2017. Previous roles include President of Optum Applied Innovation and Senior Vice President & GM at Optum from 2019 to 2023, as well as Executive Committee member at EngenuitySC from 2013 to 2022. Shah held positions on the Board of Trustees at SCRA: South Carolina Research Authority (2013-2021) and served as EVP of Prisma Health Midlands Network from 2017 to 2019. Throughout an academic career at the University of South Carolina (2001-2019), Shah taught management courses for public health professionals and contributed to the Advisory Board for the School of Public Health. Other leadership roles include Senior Managing Director & Chief Strategy Officer at FTI Consulting, Executive Committee member at Columbia Chamber, and Vice Chairman of New Carolina. Shah holds degrees from prominent institutions including a PhD in Health Policy and Economics from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from Clemson University.
