Johnny Zhang

Johnny Zhang, Ph.D., is currently serving as a Discovery ÄKTA Sales Specialist at Cytiva since October 2024. Previously, Johnny worked as a Research Scientist at Gator Bio from July 2022 to October 2024, where product research and development was conducted for a bioanalytical instrument system, resulting in the creation of three top-selling biosensors and a product-related patent. Johnny completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus on Nano-biotechnology at the University of Toronto, where significant research included the implementation of LC-MS/MS for identifying bound proteins on nanoparticles and the development of a diagnostic assay for COVID-19 patients. As part of the Chemical Biophysics Symposium organizing committee from 2016 to 2018, Johnny successfully coordinated two academic conferences that engaged over 200 international researchers. Prior to that, Johnny gained experience as an international student services assistant, teaching assistant, and research assistant at Mount Allison University, contributing to multiple research projects in chemistry.
