John Coates

John Coates is a seasoned audit professional with extensive experience in providing audit and assurance services to mid-market and international businesses. Currently serving as a Partner at Dains Accountants since November 2023, John previously held the position of Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP from September 2016 to October 2023. Earlier roles include Senior Manager in Accounting & Financial Reporting at Jaguar Land Rover and Director at PwC, where John specialized in private equity. John began a career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, serving as a Senior Manager from 1997 to 2009. John holds a BSc in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol and completed education at The Portsmouth Grammar School.
