Brian Spence

Brian Spence is an accomplished professional in the pension and actuarial sectors with extensive experience spanning several decades. Currently serving as Non-executive Deputy Chair and Chair of the Non-executive Risk and Audit Committee at 3173 since February 2000, Brian oversees the strategic direction of a group focused on innovative pension solutions. Brian is the founder of Dalriada Trustees Limited, one of the UK's largest firms of pension scheme trustees, and Spence & Partners Limited, a leading firm of consulting actuaries. Additionally, Brian co-founded Mantle Services, aiming to develop a comprehensive pensions application. Prior experience includes a management role at Mercer, where Brian advanced from actuarial assistant to Managing Executive for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Brian holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Actuarial Science from Heriot-Watt University and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics from Queen's University Belfast.
